It’s becoming a regular event for a number of members of our club to attend and participate in the Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival in Lakeland, Florida. And why not? It’s one of the most prestigious car shows in the country, second in Florida only to the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, and certainly one of the largest in the sheer number of cars that are on display in several venues. The Concours on the Promenade around Lake Mirror has over 100 of the finest examples of antique automobiles ranging from the 1910’s to the early 1970’s, all of them worthy of national awards. Then on the streets of downtown Lakeland taking up seven city blocks are cars of all types and stripes, from hot rods to customs to modern classics and collectible makes and models. It is an amazing event that keeps our club members coming back year after year with their cars, or serving as judges, or just to be there to see these beauties.
