With historic Coral Gables City Hall as a backdrop the Mercedes-Benz of Coral Gables Biltmore Way Classic Show was a huge success. It coincided with Carnaval, the annual street fair celebrating Latin culture.
It was a near picture-perfect South Florida winter’s day with balmy temps in the low 70’s, near cloudless skies, and wind…oh the wind. This kind of day brought out 85 cars and a truck that we should count twice. Many of the members’ cars have been seen before, but are still crowd favorites. We also had quite a few first-timers from both members and non-member making this an exciting show for both participants and spectators alike.
We also fielded a large force of judges who had their hands full picking first, second and third place winners in 11 classes. Judges included: Head Judge Manny Garcia, Larry Wexlar, Tom Graboski, Rudy Rodriguez, Hank Tester, Millie Garcia, Dar Pace, Marvin Freedman, Steve Greenblat, Danny Hernandez, Cindy Endres, Gabriel Garcia, Eduardo Zavala, Martin Roca, Carlos Heredia, Jaime Del Valle, Michael Arias and Tim Merriman.
The usual suspects were there processing entries and parking cars as the participants were out early and in force. Thanks to Show Chairman Andy Leavy, Mel Mann, Jean Hawa, Gary Shanock, Bob Squier, Ira Shapiro, Tomas Hernandez, Danny Hernandez, Luis Quevedo and Philip Williams. A special thanks to Guy Lewis for showing three magnificent Mercedes-Benz cars from a bygone era right next to the new generation presented by our sponsor Mercedes-Benz of Coral Gables.
Enjoy the Show.
