The annual Progressive Dinner may change venues – that’s the whole idea – but the food and the friendship is always good. On Saturday, November 4, we started out at the home of Philip Williams with a selection of appetizers – shrimp, cheese, and deli nibblers – then onward to the home of Cheryl and Jay Mullininx for a sumptuous dinner around the pool. The menu started out with a mixed green salad followed by a buffet of beef tenderloin, chicken pot pie, potatoes au gratin, and a green bean casserole. All of them were homemade and delicious. The desserts were too numerous to list here, but if you counted on cheesecake, ice cream, apple pie, lemon cake, and an assortment of cookies, you’d be off to a good start. There were door prizes for the lucky ticket holders, but best of all it was a fun time with good friends, which is one of the reasons we like to get together and share a meal.
